TDR filing and refund process
No TDR for trains delayed for more than 3 hrs. or trains cancelled & trains diverted.
- a. Go to the option 'train enquiry' in the Via 'order' page, check the train status.
- b. Inform us to cancel the ticket and to process the refund.
TDR Filing:
1. When the seat is confirmed / RAC, but passenger did not travel after chart preparation or train departure.
2. Go to the 'order' page and click on the option next to 'cancel' selected passenger as 'file TDR' and mention the exact reason e.g. 'Passenger did not travel' or whatever the reason. Via will file the TDR. Refund takes around minimum 90 days or more. Usually 50% of base fare is refunded and Rs. 20 is charged per passenger for RAC ticket. PLEASE NOTE VIA WILL FILE TDR IN THESE CASES ONLY AFTER WE GET A LETTER FROM THE PASSENGER DULY SIGNED BY HIM/HER, GIVING REASON FOR NOT TRAVELING, HIS/HER ADDRESS, MOBILE/TELEPHONE NUMBER, WITHIN 15 DAYS FROM THE TRAVEL DATE. FILING FALSE TDR IS AN OFFENCE AND PUNISHABLE AS PER IRCTC.
3. When the ticket is partial wait-listed, file TDR stating that the ticket is part wait-listed. This takes minimum of 90 days or more to process and Rs. 20 will be charged for wait-listed passenger.
4. When a pax is not carrying the 'id proof' and has purchased fresh ticket in train, file TDR for original ticket with the reason and email us copy of new ticket/receipt to railwaycell@via.com. Via will file TDR for refund.
5. If seat in class of travel booked not offered due to change in train configuration and a lower class is offered. File TDR with the clear message and email us the scan copy of the proof to railwaycell@via.com. Via will file TDR for refund.
6. Any wrong charge taken by ticket checker. File TDR. E-mail us the proof at railwaycell@via.com. Via will file TDR for refund.
7. AC failure, hence difference in fare. File TDR. E-mail us the proof at railwaycell@via.com. Via will file TDR for refund.
Very important note:
IRCTC rules says: It takes minimum 90 days for TDR refunds. IRCTC makes these refunds to us only after they get it from the Indian Railways, which may be subject to delays. In case of refund delays, you may check the status with IRCTC direct at 'tdrprocess@irctc.co.in' phone 011-23345900
